RE: Kris Allen Fan Club
Yep, it was all crickets until last night
This season is a tough one, because most of them deserved to be there from very early on. There are so many ways it could have gone. I'm not sure Kris is more talented or has better stage presence than many of the others that have already gone, but he is original and obviously has vote getting talents. If THR is any indication, then we will be unsticking this thread next week

RE: Kris Allen Fan Club
A dispatch from Kris' friends in Conway...
http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1611396...tory.jhtml Quote:"I'm pretty confident in what Kris has to bring next week, and it will be a good battle, but I think Kris will pull it out," she predicted. "He has some stuff up his sleeve, and I really think he will bring it home. Coming off of 'Heartless,' he's got new fans now who weren't fans all season. People are seeing that side of Kris and are interested now and want to see what he has next. A lot more people will be voting for Kris this week."

RE: Kris Allen Fan Club
I think we may have a little upset tonight - I know dialidol isn't 100% reliable, but they were spot on last week....and other weeks....and this morning Kris is on top per that site. It's close, but not as close as his and Danny's scores were last week.
I have to say, as sad as I was to see Danny go, Kris brought it last night. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't vote at all last night though. I started to - for Kris - but just decided I wasn't going to do it. ~V "If you don't have it around the house, you go find it somewhere else." ~~ Taylor Hicks

RE: Kris Allen Fan Club
Congratulations to Kris. Truly the dark horse and possibly the most unassuming Idol ever! It will be interesting to see what happens with both Kris and Adam.

RE: Kris Allen -THE AMERICAN IDOL - Fan Club
From AOL:
'Idol' Winner Kris Allen Interview Posted 05/22/09, 5:30 PM GMT by Kelly Woo Categories: Interviews Nice guys do finish first. 'American Idol' winner Kris Allen even told viewers that the runner-up, Adam Lambert, deserved the title. And he really meant it. The 23-year-old spoke to reporters and reiterated his statement, and also talked about how fame will affect his very new marriage, what Paula said to him after the show and whether he'll make a country album. 1. You're a newlywed, so have you and your wife, Katy, talked about how your lives are going to change? It's definitely a topic of conversation all the time. And she's been out here during the whole thing, and kind of been going through all this. So if anything we've been getting ourselves ready for everything. Things are definitely going to change, but we're really strong, and she's really cool, so ... we don't have any question that everything's going to be fine. 2. Was your wife upset when Simon made that comment about keeping her hidden? Absolutely not because she had actually been saying that before. She was like, "I don't know if you need to mention me [laughs]. So, she had said some stuff like that, so she was trying to look out for me as well. 3. You said that Adam deserved to win. Why do you feel that way? I feel that Adam deserved it just as much as I did. He was the most consistent person all year, he was seriously one of the most gifted performers ... that I've ever met, and he's really just a great guy, and we became great friends. And we told each other that day, "You deserve it," and he shot it back at me ... You know, I think it could have gone either way, and America could definitely not have got it wrong. 4. What did the judges say after you won? I really didn't talk to too many people ... I talked to Paula and she told me that she was so proud of me and things are going to be great. Paula's amazing. She's a sweetheart. 5. Do you know what the margin of victory was? I haven't heard anything. I have a feeling that it was really close. I mean, come on, Adam was a huge frontrunner for the whole thing, and I know that there was plenty of people voting for him. 6. What did you think of the judges' reactions when you sang 'No Boundaries'? That song is hard to sing. And I don't think me or Adam were happy with our performances at all. So, I think that they were not trying to judge us on that song, more than anything, and just judge us on the year -- which was kind of nice, it felt great to be judged on what we'd done throughout the year and not exactly what we'd done on this song ... I think both of us just got tired. And there was some sound issues where we couldn't hear ourselves, but it was definitely a rough night at the end. 7. What did you learn from the 'Idol' experience? Seriously, probably the biggest thing that I've learned has been that, for me, I've always kind of been a procrastinator, and on the show I felt like the the times that I worked the hardest were the times that I did the best ... So I think the biggest thing that I've learned was that seriously the harder you work for the thing that you love the most, then everything that you want is going to come true. 8. Since you're such a low-key guy, are you ready for such a bright spotlight? I've been getting ready for this all my life. I've done a lot of things in my life, I've been to a lot of places. Life gets you ready for whatever's going to happen next. This has been everything coming into culmination of everything I've already been through. [Laughs] I don't even know, I think that everything's going to be great. I'm really excited. 9. Why did you pick 'Heartless' and how did you decide to rework it like you did? I was listening to the Kanye album because I think it's great, and the song came across and I was just like, "What if I did this song and made it my own?" And I was just like, "You know what? I'm not going to ask anybody about it. I'm just going to go for it, and be bold and be risky." And I did it and I think it got a lot of good reviews, so I was really excited that I got to do something like that because I think it showed people what I could do. 10. What's your songwriting process? I've been writing for probably six years or so ... I definitely haven't been writing too much in the past eight months just because so much has been going on. I love writing music, and I think it's the way I express how I feel because I'm not a man of many words. I'm not very expressive or emotional or whatever but it comes out in my music and that's kind of who I am. I don't' know how great I am at it. I think I'm getting better. I think that the more that you do it, especially when you start collaborating with people as well, you just get a lot better at it. 11. The audience really seemed to like your duet with Keith Urban. Have you thought about going country? For me, I don't feel like I would go that country way. That's not my type of music and it's not the feeling that I want in my album. But seriously, we had a great time together. He's a great guy and I respect him so much as an artist and a musician. I think he's great. 12. What kind of album will you make? I felt like I did exactly what I wanted to do on the show that I would want to do on a record ... [When] I did 'Ain't No Sunshine,' I felt like that's the kind of stuff that I wanted to do. Stuff that kind of has that feel. Stuff that, you know, kind of moves people, and that has that feeling. |
