FT's drawings
Good news...I finally got my scanner working.
Bad news...after lots of searching, the only drawings I can find are the ones that were saved in my mom's hope chest...ones I did when I was 13 years old that were in a huge artist sketching notebook with really thick contruction type paper. And a couple of "spur of the moment" doodles from the last couple of years.

After 22 years, the pages are yellowing lol.
With this one, I was bored and was drawing a bunny from an Easter sticker I got from someone.

Lassie, being a mean bad dog, or saving the day? Haha No idea what I drew this from...maybe a "how to draw" book?

I never had a cat or a dog that looked like this so not sure where this inspiration came from either...

In this same notebook was this gem that I had forgotten about...it was an attempt at a self portrait kind of thing (well, of my hand). I drew this with a ball point pen then shaded it with colored pencil. I'm right handed, so I sat staring at my left hand for well over an hour doing this one (oooh, the cramp I had!). I have never ever been successful at drawing faces though...

RE: FT's drawings
Ok, so do y'all remember Bob Ross? That guy who used to paint a whole landscape painting, step by step, within his hour program on TV? He inspired me to do it cause he made it look so damned easy Haha
I was 14, with no cash, so grandpa went and bought the supplies for me.
Painted mostly with a palette knife and a big bristle brush, I tried to mimick one he did on TV....this is my first and only canvas painting I've ever done. It's a very, very expensive hobby to get into, so I never got a chance to practice and get better at it. I know now why artists are 'starving' Haha

Thank you Huggy
I really don't draw much anymore. After about 15, I just sorta stopped Huh Probably because I focused all my attention to boys and writing love poetry. Wink

I miss painting only because I never got a chance to see what I could have created with way more practice. It would have been nice to have done something that was worthy to hang on the wall, but who knows if I could have gotten to the point. Its just the 'not knowing' part eats at me sometimes.
I much prefer drawing, which can be done relatively cheap with artist pencils Thumbup

Thanks Denise Huggy. I do draw every now and again, mostly out of boredom, or an escape. Like this one, which I drew with a pen on the back of a piece of paper that was passed out in a meeting at work last year. A flag was standing next to my boss as he was lecturing us at the podium. The whole time it looked like I was listening and watching him...little did he know....LOL

And the meeting ended before I could finish this tree....

Hey most hobbies are an escape of some sort. Love the new drawings - I wish I you were able to finish that tree. Smile

Dayum, woman! Online2long Your drawings are AWESOME!!! And the ones you did at age thirteen are a true testament to your natural born talent. You are an artist! Puffyheart

Oh, and those happy little trees want to live in more of your paintings! Get supplies from WalMart instead of an expensive art shop. It helps cut down on the cost of the hobby, and you can still get pretty decent quality stuff, some of it the same you'd find in art stores. But yes, pencil drawing is more affordable. You really should use your talent. Huggy
