Katherine McPhee's Show, SMASH
Last night was the first episode of KP's new show. I was just curious among Taylor fans if you guys have the same reaction to her that I do.
I couldn't watch. I wouldn't. When the preview came on during The Voice, I told hubby something to the effect, "There is no way in hell I'm watching that woman do anything." It amazes me that after all this time, my loyalty to Taylor still kicks in and I can't stand her, even though she has done nothing (recently) to deserve that kind of treatment from me. All I can see when I look at her is how she curled up in a blanket during the post finale interviews, all pitiful-like and rattled off about how they were "co-winners". I can't help but remember Kris and Adam and how they soldiered on with no sleep, choosing to make a joke about their fatigue, not whine about it. Clearly, my resentment of her is very irrational at this point. I was just curious how you guys feel about her. I should probably watch the show because it would help me get past it.

RE: Katherine McPhee's Show, SMASH
Frankly, I was never a fan of hers. I have no desire to watch this show which seems to be along the same lines as "Fame". Been there, done that. But, whatever, really. She gets a break and it does well, more power to her. Acting (singing) may be her forte. What pisses me off is the crap T has to endue because of her starring in this show (among others).

Well damn. I didn't hear he was taking crap about it, but I should have known. That's just one more reason I won't watch then!

RE: Katherine McPhee's Show, SMASH
Taylor had me at hello, but I liked Katherine, early on in the season. Thought she had a great voice, and good attitude. Then it all went to her head, and she and her annoying parents made me cringe. What sealed it for me was when we were outside the buses at the Portland Maine AI show. There was only a small handful of fans, as the show had already started and we were by the entrance door for the Idols. Chris D. came by and greeted us with a smile. Elliott stopped to talk and was really cheerful. Taylor stopped to say "I'll be back out" although the guard assured us he wouldn't "they all say that and never do". Taylor did come back out and was great, even though he was exhausted. Katherine walked by surrounded by body guards, and when one of the fans called out to her she literally turned her face away from them to the wall and wouldn't even wave hello. No reason for that at all. What a bitch
![]() I'll probably watch the show, but only because it's something else Joe and I can watch together... put butter in between his thighs and he will slide right through the door

Wow Laurie, I had no clue Taylor took any crap because she got this role. what happened? I find it odd there is flack because Taylor -- no matter how talented couldn't play Marilyn M. ![]() Stangy, Personally I was not a Kat fan when she was on AI, I kinda didn't like her attitutude. I felt she spoke back to the judges a lot. I hadn't seen her do the things you mentioned. I must have missed some of the interviews. I'm sure if I had seen what you did I would have been annoyed. I really don't have much interest in the show, but I am glad for her that she has the opportunity.

RE: Katherine McPhee's Show, SMASH
I have not seen or heard any backlash from this show toward Taylor.
No, I didn't watch it but I still may try and catch it On Demand. (It was up against Castle & Hawaii 50 my Monday night man watching) I say good for her she no one tries out for American Idol hoping they wind up back in the diner taking breakfast orders. I was wise enough to never grow up while fooling most people into believing I had. -Margaret Mead |

RE: Katherine McPhee's Show, SMASH
I didn't watch it but not because Kat was in it, I'm just not interested in that type of show. As to Katherine McPhee, I feel like her about like I feel like the wall in my office.....it's there....just don't have any feeling one way or the other. I guess she has a good voice, but she certainly never moved me when she was on AI. I listened online to some cuts from one of her albums and felt like it wasn't any different from any other generic pop music out there. There are very few female artists that I listen to and when I do it's going to be someone with feeling and soul in their voice, Ruthie Foster, Susan Tedeschi, Adele, Bonnie Raitt for example.
There was some trash talk at twitter about Taylor from her fans and from other twitter idiots that wanted to act like Taylor is a complete failure. It's what I expected but not as much as I expected. |

Exclusive: Taylor Hicks on Katharine McPhee's "Smash" Hit
"Smash" star Katharine McPhee has finally found success after finishing as a runner-up on "American Idol," and the winner of her season has nothing but praise. Taylor Hicks, "Idol's" Season 5 champ, talked to toofab exclusively about McPhee's success. "It was great to see Kat in 'Smash!' I have always had respect for Kat, she has paid her dues. I officially have McPhever!" "Smash started out slow but I think the show definitely has staying power," Hicks added. "Having the Superbowl on NBC didn't hurt the shows ratings either. The advertising blitz will pay off and the cast is great http://www.toofab.com/2012/02/08/taylor-...smash-hit/ I was wise enough to never grow up while fooling most people into believing I had. -Margaret Mead |

RE: Katherine McPhee's Show, SMASH
Nice quotes from Taylor-I love how he's consistently supportive of his fellow Idols. It's too bad her fans are bringing negativity to him, but on the flip side, he'll get a lot of good press from interviews like this and come out looking great.
We're all hyper-sensitive to stuff we find on Twitter because we're doing constant searches and are Idol fans, etc. but I think overall a very small percentage of people even see any of this stuff. He's just a blip in the twitterverse, but he's our blip

But he's our blip. Good one Liz!!!
Now I can't wait for Taylor to move to Nashville-B'ham-NYC-LA-Orange Beach-East Bumblefuck in June-Aug-Sept-Dec and work on his roots-americana-jazz-rock-blues-country-soul-rap-jackson browne-elvis album, so that we can listen to it in Jan-March-May 2012! - Freebird |
