2011 gems
Life has been crazy lately, running from one thing to another. When I have time, I like to decompress by watching some videos taken during Taylor's 2011 concerts -- they always relax me and take me back to happy times. Thought I'd start a thread of some of my favorite gems.
This video has absolutely everything right going for it. Definitely my favorite version of WRIR ever done, ever. Whats Right is Right, McKinney Texas -- SweetTfan I'll keep posting a favorite gem every day or so, but feel free to add your own! "It's all love...." -- Wynn Christian |

RE: 2011 gems
A performance I'll never forget for sure. Taylor doesn't come to Texas every year, but when he does he always gifts us with something to remember. In 2009 in Houston he sang the complete Domenic's Preview and he was superb.

RE: 2011 gems
McKinney was one of the best concerts I have been to. There was something about Taylor that night. He was living the music, pulling us along with him. He was open and chatty with a true smile on his face. I am not doing a good job of explaining.... but it was a wonderful wonderful night! Two things from that night that I have been looking for and have not been able to find are Taylor singing Maybe you Should and his guitar solo that night. If anyone comes across them please let me know.

RE: 2011 gems
I was totally psyched when I heard he performed "On and On" at McKinney. His performance tore me up. The only other time I saw a video of him performing this was from the Hannah Home charity event.

Oh man, I love that video of On and On so much! Doesn't matter how often I watch it, it gets me every time. One of my favorite things is actually the still screen shot right there -- Jeff playing the flute, Taylor lost in his own world.

I remember this song Pittman was a great show, one of the VERY few times I took David with me to a Taylor show. He loved Taylor that night finally got to see what we all have been raving about for years. I was wise enough to never grow up while fooling most people into believing I had. -Margaret Mead |

Brian made a motion and they quickly quit playing and gave Taylor the solo. He was totally lost in the music, and you can watch him as he slowly comes back to earth and returns to singing. The music was taking Taylor on a journey that night. And I am so glad I was there for the ride! |

RE: 2011 gems
I love when he does ballsy things like that. It shows me how totally comfortable and secure he feels on stage.
Now I can't wait for Taylor to move to Nashville-B'ham-NYC-LA-Orange Beach-East Bumblefuck in June-Aug-Sept-Dec and work on his roots-americana-jazz-rock-blues-country-soul-rap-jackson browne-elvis album, so that we can listen to it in Jan-March-May 2012! - Freebird |
