Since Caleb didn't advance to the Top 24 (why???) and since we're going to see him in Somerville tomorrow night, we'll make a spot for him here Thumbup
Catch the part about "gonna fake a Southern accent" Haha

RE: Caleb Hawley
I'm loving the "Selling Out" video. I guess there was room for only one character on Idol this year - Casey.

Now I can't wait for Taylor to move to Nashville-B'ham-NYC-LA-Orange Beach-East Bumblefuck in June-Aug-Sept-Dec and work on his roots-americana-jazz-rock-blues-country-soul-rap-jackson browne-elvis album, so that we can listen to it in Jan-March-May 2012! - Freebird

It was a great time! Just having a mini frau fest made the trip worth it! Caleb & friends were icing on the cake. They played in a small Irish bar in Somerville MA (aka nightmare on Elm St. as it was hard to find and harder to park) called The Burren. Cool place-great mix of people, all types & ages. They were in the back room for singer songwriter night. Weird seeing someone perform in a place with empty seats after Taylor shows! Caleb played with 2 outstanding musicians, Rachel Platten & Craig Meyer. All 3 were very charismatic, talented, and fun.

Here's his song called Seeing Colors-beautiful song.

Here is Other Side of it All

Caleb was very gracious, came up to talk to us after the show. He signed my cd "see u on twitter" Haha Good time had by all. Will let Mac & Freebird supply more details...

His CDs are on CD baby and his website. Liner notes on the one I got are really funny.

RE: Caleb Hawley
Caleb is very, very talented. His songs range from funny to poignant. It really is too bad that America didn't get their chance to experience more of him. But I think he had two strikes against him - 1) he's a white guy with a guitar, which I think they are avoiding like the plague, and 2) he told Idol that the American Idol he was most like was Taylor Hicks. Haha He told us, yeah, I coulda done the Kris Allen thing, but I'm way too soulful for that.

He seemed to enjoy talking to us. He asked us how we knew each other. We all looked at each other. I said, who wants to take this one? Haha Linda told him and he said, seriously? He asked a bunch of questions about Taylor and said he would love to open for him. I'd love to see that happen!

Going to be bugging him for an interview because I think he'd be a great interview. He's funny and very open.

RE: Caleb Hawley
I'm going to be interviewing Caleb very soon. If you have any questions for him about his music or his Idol experience, I'd love to include them!

RE: Caleb Hawley
1) From what we've seen on AI so far, with what theme would he have been most excited? Least?
2) What drove him to try out for AI?
3) Has he seen any boost in his career since auditioning for AI? That is, besides attention from the THR girls Smile
4) If he could have chosen one of his own songs to expose to a nationwide audience what would it have been?
5) How can we listen to more of his music?

Just an observation - I get the feeling Caleb wasn't cast for the show not because of his voice but because the quirky character slot was already filled by Casey.

Good luck with the interview Tricia. Thumbup
