The Hollywood Reporter Idol Poll
The Hollywood Reporter that is.

THR did a poll of 750 current and lapsed American Idol viewers. They break down the demos in that poll of who votes and who doesn’t.
  • The majority of American Idol voters are female.
  • Non-voters skew male
  • 33% of voters are from South.
  • 21% non-voters are from West
  • Only 21% could name the Season 9 winner, Lee DeWyze.
  • Jennifer Lopez gets a higher favorable rating than Simon Cowell–so does Steven Tyler. But Simon Cowell gets a higher “qualified to judge” rating.

Me too FB, and I liked Lee. Last season just lacked zip. If Turban wasn't involved it wouldn't have even been funny Haha Casey relieved a lot of my boredom 666

In defense of Season 9 I think the talent was picked to be more laid back and more mellow after S8 which had such OTT personalities. They did a good job and worked just as hard as anyone else who ever came to the Idol stage. Too much focus was put on the judges with Simone's last season and Ellen never really fitting in ...and don't get me started on Kara. Was there a contestant she didn't insult? From asking Tim if he could even comprehend what she was saying to telling Casey he sounded like a farm animal she was just annoying and self absorbed.

I think AAron summed it up best when asked about the judges comments, he said if you feel the need to criticize someone then you must also tell them what they need to do to improve, otherwise your opinion isn't worth much. Pretty insightful for 17.

RE: The Hollywood Reporter Idol Poll
That's true KEB, if they had spent more time on the Idols and less on the judges we might have felt more invested in them, and more interested.
I'm glad we'll be seeing some new judges this year. While I actually liked Kara and Simon, I think it was too much "same old same old"-time for new styles and opinions! Thumbup
