RE: The Best Thing I Ever Ate .... Holiday
My favorite Christmas food is my Hungarian Horseshoe Cookies.
It is a recipe that my Mom got from her Mom. They are wonderful cookies made from a cream cheese and butter dough with a walnuts, raisins and cinnamon sugar filling or alternatively you can use apricot jam. Buttery and sweet they always remind my of being in the kitchen with Mom and baking and laughing and just having a wonderful mother/daughter moment. It would have to be all the different kinds of Italian cookies that my Nana and Mom made very year. Cuccidatis were my favorite (made with a fig filling).

My Mom never baked - she still doesn't. If it has to be a desert , My Grandmother used to bake pies -- my favorite was blueberry pie.
