Slow Cooker Ideas & Recipes
I am one of the very few left in this world who does not own a slow cooker/crockpot. GASP! I've been seriously thinking of getting one, so I'm hoping for some ideas and/or recipes.

RE: Slow Cooker Ideas & Recipes
It was my new discovery last winter and I love it. Unfortunately I never use it during the week like a lot of my friends do. I run out of the house too early to set it up. I use it pretty much every Sunday during the winter. I'll pull together some of my recipes to share. Today I'm making (for the first time) Moroccan Tangine Chicken.
The one I bought last winter has a timer but not a set and auto-start. Got it at Target on sale for about $39. "Peace, love, and scruff" |

Great topic!
Here's a website for you to browse-makes me want to start cooking right now http://slowandsimple.com I would recommend if you get one to go for the big crowd sized one. I have a smaller one, and it's not really big enough for leftovers or more than a couple of people. If you get the big one you can freeze leftovers for another time. I know there are lots of good tailgating football season recipes floating around for slow cookers-try SuperBowl recipe searches. put butter in between his thighs and he will slide right through the door

A friend of mine has an awesome slow cooker Pulled Pork recipe. I don't have it since I go there when she makes it. ![]() I'll ask her for it.

This is one of our favorites. I make it with garlic mashed potatoes.
Beer-Braised Beef Short Ribs Prep: 20 Minutes Cook: 11 to 12 hours (low) or 5-1/2 to 6 hours (high) 5 pounds beef short ribs 1 14-ounce can beef broth 1 12-ounce can dark beer 1 medium onion cut into thin wedges 1/4 cup molasses 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar 1 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed 1 teaspoon bottled hot pepper sauce 1/2 teaspoon salt 1. Place ribs in a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Add broth, beer, onion, molasses, vinegar, thyme, hot pepper sauce, and salt. 2. Cover and cook on low-heat settling for 11 to 12 hours or on high-heat setting for 5-1/2 to 6 hours. 3. Using slotted spoon, transfer ribs to platter; cover to keep warm. Skim fat from cooking liquid. Serve liquid on the side for dipping. If desired, serve ribs with mashes potatoes and garnish with thyme leaves. makes 4 to 6 servings. "Peace, love, and scruff" |

Guess you could do Chicken Pala in a slow cooker.

RE: Slow Cooker Ideas & Recipes
Here's a dip recipe that sounds really good:
This easy artichoke dip recipe is made in the slow cooker, with cheese, artichokes, milk, chopped roasted red pepper, and seasonings. Ingredients: * 8 ounces process American cheese (Velveeta) * 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) cream of mushroom soup, regular or reduced fat * 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce * 1/4 cup evaporated milk * 1 teaspoon dry mustard * 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese * 1/3 cup chopped roasted red pepper * 1 can artichoke hearts, drained and coarsely chopped Preparation: Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 2 to 3 hours, until melted. Stir well and serve with assorted crackers, bread cubes, or chips.Combine with hot cooked pasta for a very tasty meal. put butter in between his thighs and he will slide right through the door
