RE: Happy Birthday Taylor!!!
Yes, oh, yes, oh yes, OH YES! I loves me them oceans! The "whatdaya think of that" head bounce kills me every time.
Now I can't wait for Taylor to move to Nashville-B'ham-NYC-LA-Orange Beach-East Bumblefuck in June-Aug-Sept-Dec and work on his roots-americana-jazz-rock-blues-country-soul-rap-jackson browne-elvis album, so that we can listen to it in Jan-March-May 2012! - Freebird |

I need a cigarette after that second one. And I don't smoke.

RE: Happy Birthday Taylor!!!
When all is said and done (and there are about 2304984309823049 favorite moments to count), it probably comes down to this one moment for me as my all-time favorite. I was in the third row, and this was totally unexpected, and never heard again since. Yeah, that's me letting out a sob about midway through.

RE: Happy Birthday Taylor!!!
Like Linda I have so many memories that are wonderful. But I'd have to pick the first show I got to see Taylor be himself!
O'Garas... ![]() ![]() ![]()

RE: Happy Birthday Taylor!!!
Oh Denise, you said the magic word, O'Garas....sigh. I never went to that show but was and still am obsessed by it. Something about the Rembrandt quality of the light and the intimacy of those performances struck me more deeply than any other shadow show that year.
Although I collected a slew of videos that people uploaded after that concert, two performances stood out most of all to me. Even though these videos have my name on them, I didn't record them (it's just my vimeo account). I'm sorry I've lost the name of the videographer. 1. Hold On To Your Love -- the beginning of my life-long obsession for that song and all its glorious tags. The best performance of "Can't Trust Your Neighbor" and by the time he gets to "she's got the vine, that goes around the stump" I'm pretty much toast. O'Gara's HOTYL from Linda Thomsen on Vimeo. 2. Border Song (a slightly longer version). I love this version because Taylor is mostly in the dark, and hearing that voice ringing out from the dark struck me so strongly. Watching this song, this performance over and over almost singlehandedly got me through the early days of my grief after my father died. O'Gara's Border Song from Linda Thomsen on Vimeo.
