Interesting read.

Here's a snippet

I'm completely happy. I have complete ownership of my business, and I play within industry standards. People do business fairly with me. They don't try to hide percentages. Basically, what I'm trying to tell you is that I'm in the know. When you get plucked without understanding the business in general, you need to be in the know.

Hard questions although I still hate when they say he was dropped. Loved his answers though.

Did anyone reading it really think Taylor sounded jaded about his post Idol career? I didn't.

I am guessing not all the Q&As made it into the actual blog.

Actually, I think the author went in with those tough questions hoping he would come out sounding that way, and he didn't. To me, he came out sounding confident, strong and determined.

There was a negative slant. Look at how he started it.

Quote:In a way, Taylor Hicks is back where he started.

Hicks, the fifth "American Idol," is again an independent artist, performing in clubs and casinos.

It's a far cry from winning TV's top-rated singing competition and being named People's magazine "Hottest Bachelor" in 2006.

After releasing his post-"Idol" album on Arista Records, Hicks was dropped from the label. He ended up starting his own label to self-release his 2009 album, "The Distance."

And he refers to what Taylor is doing as "starting over."

Quote:So I interviewed Taylor Hicks. You can read it here. He's playing at Chukchansi tonight -- and tickets are still available. Question: After reading the Q & A, do you feel sorry for the guy? Or does he just seem kinda out there?

Does he seem kinda out there? WTF does that mean?

Some of the SP is taking him to task, of course.

I have to note that this interview has been picked up everywhere. I just received a Google alert about it being run AGAIN today in the Dallas News. Why? It's not like he's going there for anything. Sadly, I think it's because of how this guy presented Taylor. Oh look at the jaded American Idol winner. Give me an 'ucking break.

Soapbox Getting off now.

It is sad. I just hope people read the interview and make up their own minds about Taylor's interview!
