The Morning After Thread, Season 9 Finale - 5/27/10

I actually like Lee very much. His pre-Idol CD, Slumberland, is very good. Ive been enjoying it for a few weeks now. Should he have been the winner of American Idol? Probably not. But he had the support of the judges and obviously the fans. As far as his voice is concerned, not all successful artists are good singers. Two of my favorites, Van Morrison and Joe Cocker have voices that probably wouldn't make it on Idol. I tend to like character in a voice more than technical ability. Music is all subjective, people hear things differently. It's what enables Lady Gaga and Michael Buble to be popular at the very same period in time.

Vote for the Worst is bragging that it brought down the favorites and made the runners-up the winners for the last two seasons. Don't know what can be done about it but it stinks. That said, Crystal will still have her voice heard. But thank God those folks were'nt in business Season Five!

At the end of S5 - I believe in the end they supported Taylor. The support was to buck TPTB who didn't want Taylor to win.
