Taylor Hicks lights up Toronto stage - 4/8/10

Nearly spit out my coffee when I read this. Quote:Hicks is reviving the Teen Angel. His young fans refer to themselves as the Soul Patrol, and his albums sell well. It’s like he’s refurbishing Avalon’s cameo character, polishing it up for the new millennium. "I didn't hear a thing after he's wood." - Mac, Brooklyn Bowl |

"As a performer, Hicks says he is only sometimes in control of his career, while other times his career is in control of him."
Why does this quote make me sad? Now I can't wait for Taylor to move to Nashville-B'ham-NYC-LA-Orange Beach-East Bumblefuck in June-Aug-Sept-Dec and work on his roots-americana-jazz-rock-blues-country-soul-rap-jackson browne-elvis album, so that we can listen to it in Jan-March-May 2012! - Freebird |

What I felt when I read that was the weight of his non-stop work over the past four years and the pressure of having to come up with a paycheck after May. It is sad. Yeah, I took note of the "young fans" called the soul patrol comment too. LOL! But I think it IS a lot of younger women lining up for the CD and autographs at the end of the Grease performances. The guy just does not really know who the original SP was.
Wait4it I think he just meant he's so busy all the time. With all the appearances he makes, esp media days when he goes from interview to interview, always on a plane here there & everywhere, it's just chaotic. I can just see him daily having to ask someone "OK, where I am today and tell me where to go." |

At least he pointed out that only a pitiful few were making their way towards the exit without wanting to hang around for Taylor
put butter in between his thighs and he will slide right through the door
