Last night was the first episode of KP's new show. I was just curious among Taylor fans if you guys have the same reaction to her that I do.

I couldn't watch. I wouldn't. When the preview came on during The Voice, I told hubby something to the effect, "There is no way in hell I'm watching that woman do anything."

It amazes me that after all this time, my loyalty to Taylor still kicks in and I can't stand her, even though she has done nothing (recently) to deserve that kind of treatment from me. All I can see when I look at her is how she curled up in a blanket during the post finale interviews, all pitiful-like and rattled off about how they were "co-winners". I can't help but remember Kris and Adam and how they soldiered on with no sleep, choosing to make a joke about their fatigue, not whine about it.

Clearly, my resentment of her is very irrational at this point. I was just curious how you guys feel about her. I should probably watch the show because it would help me get past it.

Tricia's mom passed away January 31st at home surrounded by her family. An announcement was already made on the "moms" thread, but I felt this also deserved its own space.

The THR community offers Tricia our deepest sympathy and love at this time. I think TMW said it best --- "May she rest in peace and love. Praying for strength for Tricia and her family. May their thoughts and memories of her surround them with peace and love."

My granddaughter is blonde, green eyed, tall and lanky, with her mothers beauty and her Nana's (me!) sense of humor, her voice is a melody with its deep southern accent. Her name is Alexandra Paige and she only will answer to Alex. She is fiesty, and sweet. And once, when she was 5, her mother was trying to sneak a dead fish out of the fish bowl in her room when Alex saw what was going on. She looked at her mamma and said Awwww Shiiiitttt (southern drawl) Mr. Purple is dead. Thats my baby!
Her mama sent this to me recently it is an exerpt from Tina Feys book Bossy Pants.

First, Lord: No tattoos. May neither Chinese symbol for truth nor Winnie-the-Pooh holding the FSU logo stain her tender haunches.
May she be Beautiful but not Damaged, for it’s the Damage that draws the creepy soccer coach’s eye, not the Beauty.
When the Crystal Meth is offered, May she remember the parents who cut her grapes in half And stick with Beer.
Guide her, protect her
When crossing the street, stepping onto boats, swimming in the ocean, swimming in pools, walking near pools, standing on the subway platform, crossing 86th Street, stepping off of boats, using mall restrooms, getting on and off escalators, driving on country roads while arguing, leaning on large windows, walking in parking lots, riding Ferris wheels, roller-coasters, log flumes, or anything called “Hell Drop,” “Tower of Torture,” or “The Death Spiral Rock ‘N Zero G Roll featuring Aerosmith,” and standing on any kind of balcony ever, anywhere, at any age.
Lead her away from Acting but not all the way to Finance. Something where she can make her own hours but still feel intellectually fulfilled and get outside sometimes And not have to wear high heels.
What would that be, Lord? Architecture? Midwifery? Golf course design? I’m asking You, because if I knew, I’d be doing it, Youdammit.
May she play the Drums to the fiery rhythm of her Own Heart with the sinewy strength of her Own Arms, so she need Not Lie With Drummers.
Grant her a Rough Patch from twelve to seventeen. Let her draw horses and be interested in Barbies for much too long, For childhood is short – a Tiger Flower blooming Magenta for one day – And adulthood is long and dry-humping in cars will wait.
O Lord, break the Internet forever, That she may be spared the misspelled invective of her peers And the online marketing campaign for Rape Hostel V: Girls Just Wanna Get Stabbed.
And when she one day turns on me and calls me a Bitch in front of Hollister, Give me the strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends, For I will not have that Shit. I will not have it.
And should she choose to be a Mother one day, be my eyes, Lord, that I may see her, lying on a blanket on the floor at 4:50 A.M., all-at-once exhausted, bored, and in love with the little creature whose poop is leaking up its back.
“My mother did this for me once,” she will realize as she cleans feces off her baby’s neck. “My mother did this for me.” And the delayed gratitude will wash over her as it does each generation and she will make a Mental Note to call me. And she will forget. But I’ll know, because I peeped it with Your God eyes.
Amen.

Casey James to release debut album in March

Casey James co-wrote all but two of the 11 songs on his self-titled album, which comes out March 20.

The third-place finisher on American Idol's ninth season teamed with several A-list Nashville writers like Terry McBride and Brice Long (the team that wrote single Let's Don't Call It a Night, as well as Love the Way You Miss Me), and Brad and Brett Warren, who co-wrote Toby Keith's Red Solo Cup and Dierks Bentley's Feel That Fire, as well as the bluesy Drive on Casey's album.

Casey co-produced the album with Chris Lindsey. The final track, Miss Your Fire, also includes Lindsey's wife, songwriter Aimee Mayo, as a co-writer and co-producer. Mayo, whose country hits include Lonestar's Amazed and Martina McBride's This One's for the Girls, also co-wrote Adam Lambert's Sleepwalker and Kellie Pickler's Red High Heels, along with several other of her tunes.

Casey plays electric and acoustic guitar throughout his album, which features lots of the slide playing that his fans had been hoping for. Pat Buchanan, Ilya Toshinsky and B. James Lowry also played guitar on the album, with Dan Dugmore playing pedal steel.

Here's the full list, with songwriting credits:

The Good Life (Casey James/Scooter Carusoe)
Crying On A Suitcase (Lee Thomas Miller/Tom Shapiro/Neil Thrasher)
Let's Don't Call It A Night (Casey James/Brice Long/Terry McBride)
Drive (Casey James/Brad Warren/Brett Warren)
Love The Way You Miss Me (Casey James/Brice Long/Terry McBride)
Undone (Casey James/Scooter Carusoe)
So Sweet (Casey James/Dallas Davidson/Patrick Davis)
She's Money (Casey James/Jaren Johnston
Tough Love (Casey James/Brett James/David Lee Murphy)
Workin' On It (Bob DiPiero/Brandon Kinney/Daniel Tashian)
Miss Your Fire (Casey James/Chris Lindsey/Aimee Mayo)

Quote:I classify previous Idol winners and the occasional runner up lucky enough to get a contract through the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) growth-share matrix, a business tool oft used to classify successful and struggling business units in a company.

The model is predictive. If you’re a cute, sugary sweet sometimes blonde your potential for success according to the matrix is quite high. If you’re a dude’s dude with a penchant for artfully mussed hair and flannel all bets are off (unless you’re Daughtry) and if you’re a poppy gay then things are still up in the air.

The matrix has four categories: Star, Cash Cow, Problem Child, and Dog. Stars make money, Dogs don’t, and the other two exist in purgatory somewhere in between.

Quote:Season Five:

This season brought on the rocker, so no one ever expected the shocking early exit of Chris Daughtry, but with Chris gone, Taylor Hicks and his Soul Patrol was able to knock out Katharine McPhee. The fans loved his stage dramatics, but when he toned it down a bit and got serious, that was when he really soared. His performance of "In the Ghetto" was no exception.
